Very slow opening of LibreOffice Calc files
Solved
Hello,
When I want to open a LibreOffice Calc file, the frame appears immediately but the content of the file only shows up after several seconds.
I had the same problem with LibreOffice Writer which was resolved as follows:
- In the menu bar, click on Tools -> Options...
- In the left column, click on More (+) next to Load/Save
- Click on General
- Uncheck the 2 boxes:
- Load user settings with the document
- Load print settings with the document
- click on Apply -> OK
After these settings, LibreOffice Writer works perfectly
Can you tell me what I need to modify on Calc to achieve proper functioning?
I am on Windows 11
Thank you for your help.
Configuration: Windows / Firefox 97.0

On WINDOWS 11 only, I had a problem with slowness when opening LibreOffice calc files.
I finally solved the problem.
It comes from my network printer, as it should not be set as the default printer.
Do Not Enable the option Let Windows manage my default printer
Set Microsoft Print to PDF as default or choose a non-network printer.
For me, this worked.
My network printer was the cause of the problem.

Weird ??? This morning a Calc file opens without a problem!
Do you have an explanation for that?
Thank you in advance... -
Hello,
I don’t think the requested version was that of Windows but that of LibreOffice.
nobody is infallible

Good evening Trotte-Menu...
Sorry, I didn't understand...
The version of Libre-Office is version 7.2-
7.2 is imprecise. There are several versions:

Good evening Trotte-menu and thank you for your reply...
It wasn't so difficult, you just had to know how to do it.
My version of LibreOffice is 7.2.6.2 (x64) -
Install OpenOffice and check if the slowness persists.
This way, you will know if it is caused by Windows 11 or the software.

Why hack MS Office when there is a free solution available?
Use OpenOffice. -
Hello...
As your last message suggests, I indeed tested the reaction with other software and, indeed, the problem must come from my Windows 11, or rather from my computer which is not powerful enough.
When I work normally (not too fast) everything is fine. But if I try to do several things at the same time, that's when it gets complicated; the RAM must be saturating and I have to wait for it to get its act together!!!
Since the problem seems to be identified, I will mark it as Resolved.
Thank you for your valuable advice. -
Hello OOoForum...
I don't "overestimate the forum's divination power" but I have always greatly appreciated the advice given to me on this site.
However, in my first message, I did specify that I was using Windows 11 (see the second to last line).
But hey, nobody's perfect.
Nevertheless, thank you for this unjustified remark and especially thank you for the wise advice you provide.
See you soon...
