Hello,

Since the migration to iOS 15, a gray square appears on the left, equidistant from the top and bottom of the screen. It regularly activates this part of the screen and prevents using the apps by randomly clicking on this area. What should be done? This concerns a simple iPhone 11.

Configuration: iPhone / Safari 15.0

Hello,

Disable AssistiveTouch if it's enabled.

To do this, go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch.

Unfortunately, the square does not appear in the photos or in the captures. What I know is that next to it, there is a rectangular shape with rounded corners that flickers with pulsations. Each flicker is followed by a mini vibration. But this effect is no longer present.
It's just the square that is inactive at times. But when it starts, it's a disaster.

It seems more like an issue with your iPhone.

We'll try forcing a restart, this may help fix malfunctions:
  • Briefly press the volume up button,
  • Briefly press the volume down button,
  • Hold the Power button until the Apple logo appears.

If that doesn't work, try resetting the settings. Only the settings will be reset, your data will remain unchanged:
  • Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

If the problem persists, try restoring your iPhone using iTunes:
  • Connect the iPhone to your computer and open iTunes.
  • Create a backup of your data,
  • After the backup, click on Restore iPhone,
  • Once the restoration is complete, choose to restore your backup.

Keep me updated.

I reset the settings in vain. In the end, I switched to the 11 Pro. I'm at peace now. I'm now careful about what I do in the settings. Thank you for your support!
