Files that always open in read-only mode

Solved
Hello,

In Design opens all my files in read-only mode (even though they are not), which it didn't do before. I don't understand where this change comes from, although I think there was a Windows update in the meantime.

Every time I am forced to save the file under a different name (I can't overwrite a file I open), which is annoying because it can lead to errors.

If anyone has encountered this issue or can help me find a solution, I thank you in advance.

  1. I resolved the issue in case someone encounters a similar problem. In fact, it didn’t come from the "read-only" folders (the folders always have the "read-only" attribute under Windows), it came from the folder protection by Avast's anti-ransomware agent. By going to the Avast dashboard, you can enable/disable this protection and choose which folder you want to protect.

    1. Hello,

Thank you for your response, I had the same problem, and I ended up uninstalling Avast.

  2. Actually, I just saw that the parent folder containing the files and subfolders is set to read-only. When I try to disable it, it doesn't work, the folder remains read-only. So my request may not be in the right forum topic.
