Unable to change channel TV Brandt B2420HDLED
Solved
Hello, my 82-year-old mother has her Brandt B2420HDLED television stuck on channel 2. After seeing the manual online, I told her there is a knob at the back to change the channel (the remote doesn't seem to respond anymore?). She played with this knob and now there's no picture, just a message on the TV saying: "confirm sleep mode search, service not available" with an option for "no" and "ok," but how to confirm without a remote? When she presses this knob for 3 seconds, the TV turns off and then back on by itself, showing that same message.
No box, no internet, no smartphone at my mother's, just the cable connected. I'm working with her over the phone (I sent a universal remote today, hopefully it works).
Does anyone have an idea?
Thank you.

ModeratorHello,
the batteries in the remote are either good or dead, it would be nice to check.
Otherwise, unplug the TV from the power outlet for 5 minutes and then plug it back in.

Hello, thanks for the reply. I asked my mother to replace the batteries with the rechargeable ones she has, to press and hold the power button (the red button) to drain any residual energy after removing the batteries, then put them back in and try again, but the remote control doesn't seem to respond (she doesn't have a smartphone so she can't check the remote's infrared beam). She turned off the power strip for over 2 hours yesterday, and still the same message asking for confirmation of standby mode. With the small knob on the back, she can put the TV in standby and turn it on, but that's it. Knowing that initially she had France2 and this knob allowed her to lower the volume, I wonder how to set the source without a remote control on this Brandt TV. This situation is crazy.
Thanks for the reply, I will continue my research. -
Hello, thank you for this information, she has retrieved her image. She pressed the buttons on the remote control, for me it must come from the collective antenna of her building, as other people seemed to have the same problem in her building.
Thank you for your help.
