Choose the capacity of rechargeable batteries for landline phone

Solved
Hello,

My GIGASET DUO AS350 landline phone operates with rechargeable 1.2-volt 400 mAh batteries (AAA type).

In stores, for roughly the same price, you can find 1.2-volt batteries with 800 or 1000 mAh.

So my (maybe foolish) question: wouldn't it be better to use higher-capacity batteries if they don’t affect operation?

Thank you for your suggestions or advice.

I didn’t notice that the topic had a ton of responses!
I’m going to see my ophthalmologist right away ;-)

OK, read it all but opinions are divided, some are for, others against, here I am stuck.

In fact, to really understand, we would need to know whether the base controls the charge or not, and that isn’t guaranteed.
How to know if the base stops the power supply after a given reference time or if the base charges the battery until it is completely full (like car battery chargers that continuously supply until full stabilization of the charge).

Your final opinion anyway, that would help me.

    thank you

      Hello,

In the manual for this phone here, it states on page 11 that the battery capacity can go up to 1000 mAh. So feel free to buy a higher capacity.

Just make sure to buy NiMH batteries.

What we conceive well expresses itself clearly,
And the words to say it come easily.

      1. Great answer, thanks, I hadn’t thought to check the manual!

Since it’s not discouraged and the prices are almost the same, I’ll go with the 1000 milliamps.

Thanks again for taking the trouble to do a search ;-))
    2. Hi

I've had Gigaset phones for years, never needed to replace the original batteries (which surprisingly last a very long time) .. ;-)

        Hi there!

        You're lucky!
I changed mine at least 2 times.
Symptoms: loss of communication with a sudden drop in charge from maximum to zero.
      2. @Pierr10Regarding battery life:

Regarding the two entry-level Gigaset handsets (around 40 euros for the pair at the time), purchased more than 5 years ago, only the batteries in one handset failed. That seems correct to me.

For info: I recommend this brand which has an excellent quality/price ratio.
