WLM 2012: you need to reconnect to secure your online account.

Hello,

I regularly change the password for my Hotmail account. I did it this morning.
No problem logging in online, but when I try to open it via Windows Live Mail 2012, I get the message: "You need to reconnect to protect your online account."
I log out and then log back in, only to get the same message again.
I’ve looked online and on the forum without finding a solution, which is why I'm messaging here.
Can you help me?

    Finally, I found it: it's the two-step verification that is blocking even though I hadn't had any problems until now :(
    I disabled it and was able to log into my Outlook on WLM.
    It's just a "junk" address, but I don't want to create another one.

    I need help!
    I forgot to mention that I am using Windows 10
    I can access my inbox via the internet (outlook.live.com) but nothing works on Windows Live Mail 2012
    Now I have a new error message when I try to log in: "User interaction is required for authentication"
    Any suggestions to help me out?
