BAYO : loading maps to external drive

I am aware of the loading incidents of BAYO maps (CartoExplorer 3.00) on an external hard drive, and I haven't found an answer to this anomaly.
I have followed the recommended steps by BAYO, checked in the registry at the indicated address that the path was correct (pointing to the external drive), and that I was respecting the name of the disk, but nothing works; I still have a green background without the map displayed.
Bayo does not provide a solution, apart from the classic procedure, and advises me to load the latest version of CartoExplorer (3.18), which I will not do because I had a very unpleasant experience trying to use version 3.05 (I could no longer read the copies of my CDs) and trying to uninstall that version.
Has anyone encountered this blockage, and has it been resolved, and if so, how?
Pierre

Hello
I've also encountered a lot of problems... which I resolved this way!
In the registry, the path for the cards must be entered 3 times in
1 HKEY CURRENT USER / software / bayo / france
2 HKEY LOCAL MACHINE / software / bayo / countries / france / cards
3 HKEY USERS / S 1 5 21...etc / software / bayo / france
I can't remember exactly, but some entries were created automatically and it didn't work,
others I did manually with TUNEUP
there you go, it's your turn to play
it's a bit long and tedious but by using copy-paste... even I managed to do it!! ;-)
For contact jl.esnault@laposte.net
I don't visit the site often.
bye

Hello,
thank you for the response. I don't quite have the same paths when I loaded the maps onto the external hard drive (USB stick):
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bayo/CartoExplorer 3\Parameters\France\Maps
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Bayo/CartoExplorer 3\Parameters\France\Maps
HKEY_USERS\Software\Bayo/CartoExplorer 3\Parameters\France\Maps
Does this matter?
The name of the string must be the name on the CD (info.cd) and the value of REG_SZ is therefore the path to the directory where the .byo files and the HistoByo.his file are loaded
Is there a rule to follow for directories?
for my drive it’s << H:\LesCartesIGN\30Nord>> for example. I never change the letter.
Despite all this, still the green background when I click on the map ....

did you then use active_carto.exe
you need to place this program in each card folder and run it, you will see the bayo files running.. installing and then you can delete active and so on in each card folder
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bayo\France
when I go to france (left window of tuneup)
I see all my files on the right like
01_est "f:\ign\01 est\cartes"
to be continued
I don't know if you wrote directly to my address...??
please specify how it works.. in the subject of the email, otherwise it might go straight to the spam with ads and other invaders!
see you

the less I progress, the faster!

Hello,
I have followed the entire procedure and analyzed the addresses of the .byo files, which have been correctly modified by the value provided by active.exe.
However, the same result occurs when I try to display the map.
I am using version 3.00 of CartoExplorer, and the problem occurs with both the original CDs and the duplicated CDs.
This issue only happens on the external hard drive, as there are no problems with the internal hard drives.
Shouldn't I uninstall CartoExplorer, but I'm hesitant because there’s always something left behind, and not everything is properly uninstalled with the normal procedure (I've already experienced this).
