It would be an inheritance okay but a package ..the post office is not going to make a fuss if you have the proxy and your ID

If you have a certified power of attorney and a photocopy of the identity card, I don't think there should be any problem at the post office or the collection point... In my opinion, it would also be good for you to present your own ID in case there are any claims to identify the true author of the collection.

Alright, so if I understand correctly, for it to work with just a simple *copy* of the ID card, the power of attorney letter itself needs to be *certified* (at any town hall by the person concerned with their ID card)... Thank you very much Jmarion3 for this additional information

Your friend just needs to write a power of attorney letter in your name, signed by her own hand... no need to go to the town hall or anything...
However, as mentioned above, you must provide your own identification (original) at the time of pickup along with your friend's power of attorney, and everything should be fine...
