My Asus laptop won't turn on even with the charger plugged in.

I managed to reach customer service, who told me they have encountered this type of problem before. (As evidenced by the messages on this forum and others...)

It seems to be an issue with residual energy buildup in the battery. The solution that works well for me (and based on the phone advice from the ASUS technician) is: Do not plug in the power supply, continuously press the power button for at least 1 minute to discharge this excess energy. Release the button. Then turn it on normally. The computer starts up every time for me as if nothing happened.

I’ve had the problem several times since then. But other than that, the PC works very well.

Customer service also sent me a follow-up email in case I need it. Very responsive service. Number found on the website.

If we have to do this every time, it's frankly annoying. Personally, I don't always have the power outlet at hand (hence the interest in having bought a laptop)
I bought an Asus during the week and I'm already having trouble turning it back on. The battery is not accessible and I wouldn't dare touch it (for fear of voiding my warranty).
So what to do…?
