Hello everyone!
My searches have been unsuccessful in finding the answer to my problem.
I wrote an article with tables, figures, and also a bibliography with the help of Zotero. I am now in the submission phase. While I properly referenced everything automatically (the figures, references to figures and tables in the text via the references and legend tab), I am being asked to remove all automatic formatting before submitting the text.
While it was easy for the bibliographic references using Zotero by simply clicking "unlink citation," I cannot find a way to do this for the references to tables and figures. For those who perhaps use this tool, they will see what I intend to do.
Otherwise, concretely, and to give you a fictional example, I would like to ensure that in a text like:
"it has been shown that the subject is controversial (table 1) and that it is not evenly distributed among the groups (table 2)."
with table 1 and 2 being auto-referenced via the "legend" tool in the "references" tab, I can remove the formatting while keeping the text. As if everything had been typed "by hand."
The same goes for tables and figures; I want it so that when highlighting the text, we do not see the double highlighting that indicates a reference/legend, but rather as if it had been typed manually.
I am aware that often the problem is completely the opposite: users tend to not reference well and want to automate at the end. I have done everything correctly; everything is as it should be, it would somehow need to go back :)

I'm sorry, but I absolutely don't understand what you want to do!
You talk about formatting, then about "as if it had been typed by hand"... Note that, yes, generally we type with our hands... although...
If you want to "unlink"... and therefore have no connection to anything at all (what's the point???), just select everything (Ctrl + A) and then press Ctrl + Shift + F9.
Be careful, it's dangerous! all fields will turn into text, with no link to anything: tables of contents, captions, references, etc. but not the bibliography since these aren’t really fields (but well, you’re not using it apparently).
If it's really just about removing the formatting, you just need to switch everything to Normal style.
Well, try to be clearer...

Thank you very much, that's exactly what I was trying to do! Break the link with a field. Now that I have the right vocabulary... In Word, it's under references so I didn't use that term...
After Ctrl+Shift+F9, I don't know what tool that refers to.
And no, I didn't type everything by hand, because with fields, I've never typed the table of contents for example, it generated itself :)
Yes, it's dangerous, I keep a version with all my fields ;)
But for certain journals, it's a requirement they have... it's a bit silly...

Oh yes, indeed if it's for newspapers, I understand. They probably run the document through DTP, and in that case, we don't really like Word, because there are no conversion pathways. Personally, I've written a lot of books, and fields have always been off-limits for me! ;)
Ctrl+Shift+F9 is a shortcut related to fields, and there are no commands as buttons or anything else! Even with a right-click, this option isn't available.
