Hello,

I am contacting you about a problem that occurred some time ago and had disappeared. One day I accidentally clicked on faxsend, a feature I did not configure at all, and therefore the printer screen displays "send fax," so I can no longer print anything, and from time to time the problem disappears and I can print normally.

When I unplug it and then plug it back in, the screen displays the menu normally for a few seconds, then again shows "send fax."

But of course it only happens when you need it most. Since I need the printer, please respond as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 77.0.3865.120

I think the solution is on page 300 of the manual (and also page 817).
You must disable automatic number recomposition.
However, you must do it as the printer administrator, and therefore you need to create an administrator who will have all rights to modify the printer parameters.

Following a comment left in the concierge area:
After struggling with this solution and before throwing your printer out the window due to this error message below, here is the real solution (Canon support) tested and resolved yesterday:

    1. Unplug the Ethernet cable (or turn off the Wi-Fi router)
    2. On the printer screen, select "Config."
    3. "Peripheral settings"
    4. "Network settings"
    5. "Other settings"
    6. "WSD setting"
    7. "Enable/disable WSD" and select "Disable"
    8. Go back to "Other settings"
    9. Select "LLMNR" and enable this service
    10. Return to the printer home screen
    11. Re-establish the connection as functional

    Hello ....

I don’t know how this printer works, I consulted its manual (Here) which seems quite tedious to understand ... and I didn’t find the solution or perhaps searched poorly?

Personally I would completely and cleanly uninstall this printer, unplug everything, restart the computer and perform a clean reinstallation from Canon’s site (Here) (Note: if not Windows 10 adjust the OS) so that the printer returns to its proper configuration .... I don’t really know if that’s the right solution but in my opinion it should be okay ...

See you for your future comments.... But if none >> Resolved
