Illegible writing

Good evening, I am very sorry because on September 3, 2019, Pierr 10 helped me effectively resolve my issue by indicating that to remedy it, I needed to install the Theme Font & Size Changer (fixed) extension. Everything worked perfectly. The letters in Thunderbird became perfectly readable again. However, a few minutes ago, once again, the letters in Thunderbird have become unreadable and, while searching, I read that the extension was incompatible with Thunderbird 68.0; I would like to understand why the extension worked well from September 3 until today. Could you kindly let me know what I need to do to regain readable text for my messages? Thank you in advance.

Hello Indochinese,

There is no need for this extension to enlarge the characters of a received email. You just need to use the "zoom" function on the PC: Ctrl + mouse wheel or Ctrl and the + key.

Hello

The Theme Font & Size Changer (fixed) extension and zoom (Ctrl + scroll) do not have the same effects:

- The extension affects the Thunderbird interface and the mail list, but has no effect on the text of an email.
- Ctrl + scroll has the complementary effect: it only affects the text of the email, but not the display of the menus.

==> Too small writing in the received emails, isn't that what the requester was complaining about?

Updates to Thunderbird are currently going to version 60.9. That’s how I went from version 68.8.0 to version 60.9 (My Thunderbird is declared "up to date"). At the same time, version 68 is available for download on the Thunderbird website and on CCM.

The extension "Theme Font & Size Changer(fixed)" is indeed incompatible with version 68. It works with version 60.9.

This is not a problem and it is normal. Version 68.8.0 does not exist.
Version 68.0 is available only for direct download. Not for updates.
Updates are currently proceeding to 60.9.0.
So a Thunderbird downloaded directly in 68.0 becomes 60.9 if updated.

Only the upcoming 68.1 will allow updates from 60.x.x

Regarding the extensions, it is specified that only extensions made compatible with 68 by their authors are available (except Lightning).

To my knowledge, the current version is 60.9.0.

Hello, it seems there has been a misunderstanding. Indeed, I did not ask the same question twice: I do not stutter. In my first message, I was thanking PIERR 10 who provided me with the necessary information, and in a second message 4 days later, I indicated that the mentioned extension was no longer compatible. By the same token, I would like to point out that Thunderbird 68.9 does not exist on my end. Nevertheless, all the information provided by the signatories, whom I greet in passing, has helped me solve my problem. This proves that Comment ça marche is very useful for novices like me, as it allows more knowledgeable people to help us. I have never been disappointed. Sincerely, please accept all my thanks.
