How to convert a color image to black and white using Paint

Try this procedure:
Open Paint
Choose a photo of your choice and import it or open it with Paint.
You see your photo in color.
Go to the tab → effect
Select → Grayscale (B&W)
Go to the tab → File → Save as
Select for example → Desktop

Another way to convert a photo to black and white using Paint:
- print to "pdf creator" → the print window opens
- click on "preferences" → the window opens
- click on the "paper/quality" tab
- select the "black and white" option
- click on print: the PDF document in black and white is created
- make an image print and open it with Paint
