Hello,

A friend has this laptop installed with Windows 10 S. The problem with this machine is that it only has a 32 GB flash drive, which prevents Windows updates due to lack of space.

My idea would be to switch it to Windows 7 Home and block updates.

What do you think?

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 72.0.3626.109

    Hi,

Impossible, because if it's a recent version, only Windows 10 has drivers for the machine. Therefore, it's impossible to go to W7 without major problems.

Moreover, W7 will have the same background issue. You can also block updates under Windows 10. But it's at the time of purchasing the machine that you must be careful, not afterward. 32Go is clearly insufficient for any system, except a smartphone currently...

If I start a Windows 10 reset, is it possible to specify an external SD card location so that it puts Windows 10 update files on the SD card instead of the C drive? I understood that despite the manipulations, it’s almost impossible to avoid Windows 10 updates...

Seems impossible to install updates on an SD card, it seems. Just like the entire system, actually...

It was at the time of buying the machine that they should have planned for it :(

But this isn’t my phone, otherwise obviously I wouldn’t have taken this kind of hardware... :(

So, therefore, to fix his update issue, maybe I can reset Windows 10 without keeping anything, but how can I block Windows 10 updates?
