Hello,

I have a little problem and I hope you can help me!

My mother changed the box while I was away (I'm now with Free, using fiber, and my PC is connected via ethernet). Since I got back, I have internet but I can't play my online games (CSGO and LoL). For LoL, I get a black screen followed by the message "unable to connect, blah blah blah..." And for CS:GO, it says "unable to join official servers."

I don't understand where the problem might be coming from. I've already checked for updates, firewalls, etc. and I'm stuck.
If anyone has a miracle solution or has the same problem as me, I would really appreciate it :o

It was a problem with the IP address (which is shared among several users when you switch to Free)
I had to create a Full Stack IP address and it worked

  Confirmation then, that Free really messed up on their first support request.
  
  At the same time, the shared IPs on fiber optic with Free won't make everyone happy...
  
  From there, it could provoke this kind of behavior... I don’t know how they did that at Free, but... it must be done on the cheap.

Hello, I've been having exactly the same problem since December 25th. I've tried everything—uninstalling and reinstalling Steam, disabling the firewall, antivirus, Defender, and so on... I reset my router to factory settings. I used my friend's account and it worked from his place; he used my account and I got the same message :/ The only thing that worked was when I connected my Free 4G phone as a modem! I tried technical support this morning, but after 25 minutes of waiting without success, I'll try again later...

I called Free once again, they reset my Freebox, etc., and no blockage is detected
Now, I have to call a computer technician. I don't see what he could do because the problem comes from the network (none of my PCs/consoles are working)
I've never had a problem like this before.

  Given the problems and apparently the various affected people... It's with Free.
  
  If necessary, tell them to come look on our forums (especially since they must have a Community Manager hanging around here), as I am not the only one affected by this "problem," apparently.
  
  Otherwise, it seems they must have recruited the guys from SFR... given the level :o)

Hi,

Possibly a bug related to IPv6, you never know...

Try disabling the IPv6 provisioning of your network card once (-> Network card properties -> uncheck IPv6), just in case.

But it’s strange that you have access to the web but not to games. Generally, there’s no reason for it to be stuck, unless the Freebox is misconfigured...

  The Freebox might be misconfigured, my mother did everything and doesn't live with me so I have no way of knowing what she did right/wrong haha
  But I don't know anything about this box, it's not easy
  Maybe I'll call Free even though I think they can't do anything :(

  Free will be able to check if they have an inconsistent setting, initially.
  
  Do you have an antivirus on your computer? If yes, which one?
  
  Try to disable it (temporarily) and see if you can then play online?
  
  You may have configured this network in "public" mode and the firewall is blocking certain applications...

  Yes, I thought about it for the public mode: I set it to private, but I don't know what that means
  The firewall, even completely disabled, doesn't change anything

  What did Free say about the configuration? It's correct, nothing unusual or "blocking"?
  
  -> Windows Defender doesn't need to be disabled and is "impossible" to uninstall because it's now part of Windows.
  
  It's relatively strange that it's stuck, though.
  
  Delete all known networks from your machine and reconfigure your current network.

  It's a bit extreme, but it should fix the problem if it's related to the network configuration.

  The advisor, who seemed to know what he was talking about, told me that Free couldn’t block this, that the network was normal and working
  
  However, knowing that none of my devices are working, it’s not coming from me either.

It's completely normal, the server doesn't recognize your new modem.

You need to re-register with the new code.

  Have you read, at least to some extent, what the author wrote? I don't get that impression...
  
  He is connected via Ethernet, so by cable... No relation to any code.
  
  Moreover, if he were connected via "Wi-Fi" without the code, he wouldn't be able to surf, as the Wi-Fi connection wouldn't work at all. However, he can surf, but doesn't know how to play online.
  
  Is it that hard to read a topic entirely?
  
  Additionally, no link or relation between the game server and the "modem"... not even the fact that it "recognizes" it...
