Hello,

Here’s what Apple says about the different problems with Mac startup:
https://support.apple.com/fr-fr/HT204156

In your case, it is the Prohibition Symbol and here’s what is recommended:
" If a circle with a diagonal line appears instead of the Apple logo, your Mac could not locate a valid System folder to boot from.

If the Mac is owned by a company or educational institution: it may be trying to start up from an incorrect version of macOS. Please contact your IT department for assistance.

If this is your personal Mac, try reinstalling macOS using the macOS recovery function.
"

In your case, it is the Mac OS recovery that needs to be undertaken.

Good evening,
Actually, all the operations you just mentioned work, but when I click on reinstall macOS after accepting the terms and conditions, a disk appears, and when I click on this disk, I see the disk locked, and the installation cannot proceed.

Hello

Did you click on the "macOS recovery" link I gave you earlier?

It explains that you need to hold down both Cmd + R keys during the Mac startup until the "macOS Utilities" menu appears. Then you choose "reinstall macOS."

If that doesn't work, you should then boot by pressing and holding down the three keys Alt + Cmd + R.

If that doesn't work, you should then boot by pressing and holding down the four keys Shift + Alt + Cmd + R

If nothing works, it means the hard drive has a serious problem. You might then consider replacing the drive, but we'll discuss it further if necessary.

Hello, thanks for your help, but once I'm in the system, what should I do to get my Mac to restart normally??? Actually, I tried to reinstall a new version of Mac, but I see there's only one disk (Recovery HD) and it is locked. So the installation is impossible.

Hello,

Just for your information, while waiting to find a solution to make the MacOS partition of your hard drive (the one that contains the system and all your data) reappear:

The hard drive of a late 2011 MacBook Pro is relatively easy to change as explained here:
https://fr.ifixit.com/Tutoriel/Remplacement+du+disque+dur+du+MacBook+Pro+13-Inch+Unibody+fin+2011/7656

The idea, if you change it, would be to buy:
- a new hard drive (this could be an opportunity to get a bigger one?) to install in your Mac and then install a MacOS system on it;

- an empty external hard drive casing compatible with the connection of the old hard drive to put the old hard drive in. This would allow you to try to recover your data from your old drive to the new drive. Once your data is recovered, this external hard drive could be low-level formatted to eliminate the problematic areas of the hard drive.
