Hello,
My boyfriend and I had the little red heart on our Snapchat conversation, indicating that we were best friends for 2 weeks. But the heart suddenly disappeared, replaced by the smiling emoji (indicating that we are good friends). Do you know why?

According to my limited knowledge of Snapchat, it seems that they calculate this based on the number of exchanges you have with each other (messages), as well as the number of exchanges between your friend and their contacts.
Basically, if you exchange for example 5 messages/min and you are the person who has talked the most with your friend, the friendship level will be higher.
If they start chatting for example 7 messages/min with another person, you will no longer be the person they have talked to the most, so Snapchat considers that you are no longer "best friends" but good friends.
So logically, you just need to chat a lot with your friend for a certain time, I would say at least a week to regain your "best friend" status. With Snapchat, such statuses disappear very quickly, so it’s normal that it only lasted 2 weeks.
However, do not worry, this status is just "indicative" and your friend has not chosen the status in any way.
