Hello,

Could you please help me understand what to do: My Lenovo G50-30 from December 26, 2014, WITH OR WITHOUT its battery, plugged into the wall, none of the indicators on the front or digits light up and the screen remains black even when pressing the "power button". There was no warning sign the last time I used it.
The current is indeed passing through the power cord because not only does the "power adapter feel warm normally", but when I put my hand under the left side of the touchpad, it is warm too.

What do you think it could be <, <<<<< it is only 30 months old. And all my videos and photos from my last vacation are stuck inside.

Thank you for your advice

Best regards

Configuration: Windows / Firefox 51.0

    Hello,
don't worry about your data as long as you don't damage the hard drive, they will always be there.

Regarding your computer, you can try resetting the CMOS,
unplug all peripherals and power sources (including the battery), and hold the power button for at least a minute.
If that doesn't work, you should reset the CMOS by removing the CPU battery for 3-5 minutes. It is located inside the PC, and is more or less difficult to access depending on the computer.

      Hello jumulka
After several attempts, I went to a small IT technician. He informed me, after having observed that:
      >>>The current is properly flowing in the power cable because not only is the "power supply box warming up normally," but when passing my hand under the left side of the mouse finger sensor, it's warm too<<<
it was the "motherboard" and he couldn't do anything with this model (Chinese Lenovo!?) and I left with my computer under my arm.
Loss is loss, I opened it carefully and looked around, no visible "fire damage." And I did see this special BIOS battery, it's soldered... and not listed on the internet
I gave up on THIS Lenovo.
I recovered the hard drive and bought a "TECHYO 2.2 SATA USB2" case at the electro-depot and inserted my HDD in it with its connection cable -> USB.

My question, if you can answer it, is:

How do I proceed to recover my audios, photos, and videos from my old Vista tower please?
It appears under the designation "Windows8_os," and when I connect it, I get this confusing window... but I'm too afraid of making mistakes and losing everything

      Thank you again

      Best regards

      Hello,
what do you call the confusing window?
could you take a screenshot of the Windows window where the disks are located, and a screenshot of Disk Management (right-click on Computer > Manage > Disk Management)

(to post on the forum, click reply and in the small menu at the top there is an icon to add images

Good evening and thank you for your responses.
Sorry for the typo, I meant: drop-down window that appears when I plug the external hard drive into the USB of my VISTA tower

The link above is for taking a screenshot of the Windows window where the disks are located, but I can't seem to make it work or find this "capture." When I move the tool around, I see a little + or prohibited symbol depending on the location, but no "validation"

    I am really lost.
When I try to recover my audio, photos, and videos, it seems to work, but then it "hangs suddenly" with a message that appears in a window. I still hope to find where I'm stuck!

Have a good evening and thank you again for trying to help me.

Launch the capture tool, select the area, and then click on the disk icon to save. Then it will ask you where you want to save it, and to keep it simple, you can save it to the desktop.

Did I succeed in these captures? I only see these 2 links written!
But still can't find my many movies!? We will see tomorrow night. Thank you again. I wish you a good night

Yeah, that's pretty much it ^^.
      You can close this window.
Then go to Windows Explorer and navigate to drive D:, then to users > your name > and there you have your folders: documents, images, videos, downloads, desktop, ...
Then you just need to copy/paste them onto your computer.

When you enter the folder with your name, it might ask for the password you had on the other computer, and it will take a long time to open that folder (only the first time).

Hello to you and thank you again,

I don't see a specific disk "D" in Windows Explorer! Bad manipulation?
And no request for a name, password, etc. I must have missed a step
I have about thirty movies on it (comedy genres, to watch on the go without wifi.) And it's mostly those that I would like to recover, along with the photos from a recent trip to Morocco (May)

I will come back this afternoon to try again

    Best regards

ha now it appears in E: (on the one above it was marked D), anyway the one where it says windows8_OS

the password will be requested when you enter the user's data

so windows8_OS > users (or users) > your name > folders

    Good evening and eureka.

My mistake was just. By following you more slowly, I managed to recover everything, including films.

Thanks again for the valuable help you provide to CCM
