Hello everyone,
While I was playing a game of Rainbow Six Siege, my screen suddenly turned a pink hue. Since then, I haven't been able to see a normal tint. But that's not the only problem: for example, when I open Google Chrome, I can see the icons on my desktop through it, or there seems to be a semi-transparent screenshot of a past action on Google Chrome on my wallpaper. Other than that, the PC works fine (no lag and normal fps in games). I'm using an Asus G751JT laptop. My graphics card is a GTX 970 M. In summary, pink tint on the screen + display bug.
I've tried the following actions but without success:
- Updating my graphics card driver
- Multiple restarts
- Disabling and then re-enabling the card from the device manager
- Connecting to an external monitor (normal colors on the external monitor)
I can't send you a screenshot because they appear "normal." But I will share
I saw on forums that this could be related to the graphics card, but that surprises me because the fps are not affected, or maybe due to the screen connection, but unfortunately I'm using a laptop, so it's hard to check.
If you've ever experienced this problem or have any ideas that could resolve it, I'm all ears. Your advice is also welcome. Thank you in advance for your help.

My PC is repaired. I ordered a new screen and a video cable. I disassembled it again this morning and replaced both. I preferred to change both at the same time for safety reasons, so I didn't isolate exactly whether the issue was with the cable or the screen, so sorry to you who are reading this post and have the same problem as me. That said, it solved the issue. I decided to do the manipulation myself since after ordering my new components, I thought my computer was no longer under warranty. I was wrong! Be sure to check the longevity of your warranty before attempting anything. Mine was actually 2 years while I was convinced it was only 1. In any case, let's not forget that the warranty is void as soon as you disassemble your PC (that was my case).
If you have never done any "mechanical tinkering" and you are clumsy or not very careful by nature, I do not recommend doing the repair yourself, some steps are delicate.
If you have the same problem and have questions, you can try to contact me by private message or in response to this post and I will try to respond (even if the post is old).
Thanks to those who tried to help me and provided essential information. ;)
