Hello,
I recently bought an Asus Laptop X540L and I changed the RAM, but it’s hardly useful since the processor can't keep up. So, is it possible to change it and are there any consequences?

No need to say yes but it’s not possible, NO! I know that some laptops can have their processors changed, so stop with those useless comments!

Hello,
yes, certain laptops can change their processor. You need to:
- know what the processor socket is; it's best to check with CPU-Z on the computer (technically, if it's integrated, there's no socket)
- find a processor with the correct socket,

on a PC that technically has the same motherboard, I saw that the socket is FCBGA1168

there are processors with the same socket here: https://www.mouser.fr/ProductDetail/Intel/CL8064701462800S-R16H?qs=L4m7d03WznkyhCP%252BDYDlLw%3D%3D

but I don't know anything about the reliability of the sites, and it costs an arm and a leg
oh, and you also need thermal paste, which costs about 2-3€. (or more depending on the quality)

and how come the processor is not compatible with the RAM? Isn't it more about the motherboard? What were you upgrading from and to?

Thank you for your response. In fact, recently I added a crucial 4GB DDR3L to my laptop, and combined with the integrated RAM, it gives a total of 8GB in dual channel. However, even in heavy games, it is never fully utilized because the processor is often at 100%. I use Iobit CPU Manager to view my usage stats, or simply the Task Manager.
