    Hello.

    You won't appreciate my help then, I'm German :P

    The F9 key doesn't work on W$ 10, at startup; Asus advised to make a backup and discs before the upgrade using their software.
    But now for you, it's too late, your recovery is down.

    The only solution left is a fresh install via the W$ 10 ISO on a USB stick.
    Or Linux, which is also very good ^^

      Yes, Linux is already running like a charm on it in dual boot; Windows 10 was just to see how it works, I hardly use this OS anymore, but it's always good to know anyway :p

      I will do as you suggested; I'm going to look for the ISO image and give it a try. Thank you very much for your response and have a great weekend :D

      P.S. I had a lot of trouble learning the little I know in German, but I'm not at all upset with people who speak it ;)

        I am like you, I have w$ and Linux, and I mainly operate on Linux.
        Except for some of my editing software, for work, which are only available on w$.

        We can repair the recovery, but it's tedious, and it's not even certain that it will work in the end.
        And with all the unnecessary software, it's not a big loss.

        On the other hand, if your PC is running moderately on w10, also make a USB stick with the original ISO of your PC.
        It’s probably w$ 8.1.
        This way, you can reinstall 8.1 at any time in case of a major crash on w$ 10.

      Here you go, like nothing was working (I couldn't save anything, error after error...) I reinstalled a new .iso image (not registered, I only found the Product-ID and not the key before formatting... oh well, that's what you get when buying used... but it's enough for what I'm going to do :) ), I have dual boot, I can test my websites on Edge and tinker with a few little things from time to time and that's it, the rest happens on Linux :o) Thanks again for your kindness and your answers!

        w$ 8.1 and w$ 10 do not have a license on the sticker; it is digitally tattooed in the PC's BIOS.
        Normally, the w$ installer retrieves the license itself and activates w$.

        It has always worked for me.
        Activate in total legality ;)

        Yes, with Linux you won’t have to deal with headaches at least.
