Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to convert a jpg file (obtained after scanning a document) into Word because I need to copy and modify the text contained in this document. Is it possible, are there any free software compatible with Mac available?
Thanks in advance

Configuration: Mac OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) / Firefox 21.0

Hello,

a .jpg file is a compressed image. It is actually a photo.
That is to say, a set of pixels of varying colors. You can't transform a photo into a text document.

What you need to do is use handwriting recognition software. This software examines the document and decides whether a certain set of pixels can be regarded as a character, a letter.

This type of software, called OCR, works more or less well depending on its quality and thus its cost.

See here:

There are online conversion sites, just to name one:

See you later

No, it's impossible.

There are 2 solutions available to you,

Either you take back the document you scanned to modify it directly and rescan it.

Or you use a drawing software (Paint will do) and modify the text by adding new content.

I hope I've helped you.
