Thank you Mixy, the information is correct. It is the radio series "Peter Gay" (my phonetic memory wasn't that far off...) broadcasted on Europe 1 at 7 PM (from 1957 to 1967) and narrated by Pierre Bellemare.
There isn't much on YouTube or Google. As for the audio archives of Europe 1, I could not register as an individual.
It apparently requires a business (request for the SIRET number without which registration is impossible). I will try to get in touch with Pierre Bellemare with the aim of retrieving any possible audio traces. In any case, thank you again for your intervention. It helped me solve a puzzle that has been bothering me for a few decades.

The music, The Love of the 3 Oranges, is indeed the one that announced a show by Pierre Bellemare.

On the other hand, for OPZ, of which I still have the sound of the jingle, quite brief actually, in my ear, I remember this series very well, as I was a dedicated listener for several months when I was around 9 or 10 years old. I would sit in front of the radio and I can still hear that episode set in the Amazon, where the characters were searching for a rocket - Thor Agena - I think, which had crashed in the forest, I can still hear the sounds of the birds and animals (sound effects).

The soap opera in question was broadcast by Europe One in the very early years of the station, that is to say in the year 1955 and/or the following ones. The narrator presented himself under the identity of Peter Gay. The story began with the crash of a plane named "Flying Home" in the Amazon jungle.
It continued - among other things - with the mysterious appearance of an unknown submarine in the waters of the place known as Golfo Nuevo on the Argentine coast, an appearance that actually occurred in those years, and that some in the press at the time attributed to a submarine from a secret Nazi base...
Quickly, the soap opera linked all sorts of events - inspired by reality or completely imaginary - to an international secret society called Organization Zero Point, or OPZ.
Among the ghostly characters involved in the plot was a certain Ivar Kazan, supposedly a former dictator of an imaginary country under Nazi occupation, Morenie (a character directly inspired by the Croat Ante Pavelich).
I would be utterly unable to say what the epilogue was, if there was one, except that the OPZ threatened the United Nations with causing a universal cataclysm on the feast of Saint Monica.

My memory was Peter Gay or a name close to it

For the Duraton family, Radio Luxembourg's characters are Ded Rysel, Yvonne Galli, Jacqueline Cartier, Jean Carmet, and Lise Elina at the beginning, along with Monsieur Pignon voiced by Ded Rysel. The village was called Pervanche sur Oise, and the fishing club was called Le Goujon Fretillant. I just came across your research, this Europe N° 1 show was called OPZ, Operation Zero Point, and I remember the theme tune very well; it's always in my head. Like you, I listened to this program, which made me travel while sitting in front of the radio.
