Hello,
I’m looking for an old radio show that aired in the 1950s (I specifically listened to it in 1957) but unfortunately, I only have a few elements left, which is why my searches have been in vain to this day.
It was a serial that mentioned (as far as I remember - I was 8 years old at the time) mystical and supernatural events that took place in a distant past (ancient Egypt, the Mayan and Inca peoples, etc.) or mysterious things like Atlantis or the Bermuda Triangle. All with an extraterrestrial involvement.
This serial was broadcast in the early evening and lasted about half an hour.
And of course, it was all narrated by a deep, mysterious voice and accompanied by sound effects that sent shivers down your spine. I listened to the narrator, not without a certain anxiety building up, which the adult I shared the listening experience with tried to calm.
Unfortunately, I cannot specify the name of the radio station in question.
The only detail that has always stuck with me is “pitogué” said phonetically because I do not know the spelling. In fact, it was the name of the main character of the serial. So is it “PIT” (the first name) and “OGUE” or “AUGUER” or “OGUER” etc..... Anyway, in my mind, it has always remained “the adventures of ‘Pitogué’.”
Apparently, the websites related to radio shows from those years do not mention this serial. Now, the name of the show was not necessarily “Pitogué.” I thought of “The Masters of Mystery” but that is not the show I am looking for.
If anyone (from my generation) happens to remember......
Thank you in advance for your attention.

Thank you Mixy, the information is correct. It is the radio series "Peter Gay" (my phonetic memory wasn't that far off...) broadcasted on Europe 1 at 7 PM (from 1957 to 1967) and narrated by Pierre Bellemare.
There isn't much on YouTube or Google. As for the audio archives of Europe 1, I could not register as an individual.
It apparently requires a business (request for the SIRET number without which registration is impossible). I will try to get in touch with Pierre Bellemare with the aim of retrieving any possible audio traces. In any case, thank you again for your intervention. It helped me solve a puzzle that has been bothering me for a few decades.
Best regards.
