Which USB flash drive to use for recording a TV show? Solved

Good evening,  I have a Samsung UE32F45000 TV that has a USB port. To record, I used an 8GB USB stick, which worked without any issues. Since I wanted more memory, I bought a 16GB USB 2.0 stick, but my TV doesn't accept it! When I plugged the stick into the TV, it said it needed to be formatted, I agreed. After a rather long test, I received the following message:  This device is not suitable for recording or Timeshift. We recommend using a USB hard drive. Measured: write: 4.5Mbps, read: 2.3Mbps Recommended: write: 4.3 Mbps / read: 2.6 Mbps  I am perplexed, and before going to buy another stick, I would like to know what specifications are necessary? Or is there a way to convince my TV that it can use this stick ;-)  Thank you in advance for your help  Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 42.0

jeannets was right: with a so-called "high speed" USB 3.0 key, it works very well! FNAC hesitated a bit to make an exchange: but madam, you shouldn’t have opened the packaging (oh really?), but madam, you should have asked for advice (but I did ask for advice)!! Nevertheless, they changed it for me! So problem solved: THANK YOU!

Good evening,  There are USB keys and USB keys...  Quality, price, and speed (memory access speed) are the characteristics.  Generally, the indication is read under "Class 6," for example, it goes up to 10 for the more expensive ones... Good evening,  It may not be a problem with the quality of the USB key. However, the formatting should generally be done in FAT32.  I suggest you connect the USB key to a PC and format it in FAT32, then try again on the TV.  However, you will be limited to recordings of a maximum of 4GB (to my knowledge).  So depending on the quality chosen, if the TV allows it, you will need to adjust the image quality level according to the duration of the program.  Best regards.
