I’m not sure I understand correctly ...
I’m using a Mac and with Google Sheets, I use $ to lock a cell address just like in Excel. Like $A$1
What exactly is your problem?

Thank you very much for your response!   I was mistaken about the positioning of the $$, which is why I had the error (e.g., F$1$)
