Hello,
I will try to be as precise as possible:
ACER ASPIRE E15 E5-571G-5635
purchased just a month ago, already TWICE the same malfunction.
No more touchpad... I use the laptop, it shuts down on its own when I fall asleep in front of it ... ^^ and when I start it up the next day, no more touchpad... impossible to activate this damn thing.
The first time, I had to reinstall the computer (do an update as if I had just bought it, which erased everything and reset it to zero) and it worked again.
Today, I don't want to erase everything and reinstall a NEW computer.
An external mouse works perfectly.
The Fn+F7 key does not work at all, even the icon that should show up on the screen when pressing these keys does not appear.
If someone can provide me with THE solution, I would be very grateful, it's annoying to have to send your laptop back to ACER for this ... if I have no choice, I will do it.

Hello poupougne13,
thank you for your response.
I spoke with ACER support over the phone and they resolved the issue in 3 minutes :-)
Turn off the computer
Unplug the external mouse
Turn on the computer and immediately press F2 continuously until a window opens
Then F9 and confirm YES
Then F10 and confirm YES
The computer restarts
The touchpad works wonderfully :) and without losing my data!
I had someone competent on the phone, however the support via chat is not recommendable at all.
Happy holidays!!!
