Hello,
Here's the problem:
our Samsung TV doesn't have a SCART socket. Our DVD player doesn't have an HDMI port. So we bought a SCART/RCA IN/OUT cable.
However, our TV only has two input jacks: one yellow and one green.
Right now, our connection is not working...
Do we need an additional adapter between this RCA cable and the TV jack?
How do we connect the player to the TV?
Thank you for your reply.
Best regards

Hello JosayA,
If I understand correctly, you have a recent TV equipped with an HDMI port (digital signal) and an "old" DVD player equipped with a Scart socket (analog signal).
You can convert the analog signal from your DVD player to digital signal using a converter, like this one:
https://www.amazon.fr/Ligawo-P%C3%A9ritel-converter-upscaling-alimentation/dp/B002IA5M3A
The problem is its price: €42.75 + shipping costs.
So, when you look at the current prices of “digital” DVD players, I wouldn’t hesitate: rather than buying a converter, I would buy a new DVD player.
Its price: about €50 + around €5 for an HDMI cable.
This model costs €51.41:
https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B00G4TTQQK/ref=pe_386181_40444391_TE_item .
As for your trials with the RCA jacks, I'm not too surprised that it doesn't work, because these jacks should normally accept digital signals (and not the analog signal coming from your DVD player via the Scart socket).

That's false! RCA connectors are analog, not digital. Yellow for video, red and white for stereo sound. It's scandalous to see that televisions no longer have RCA inputs, which forces people to throw away perfectly functional DVD players. Hello carbon footprint!
