Hello

Emails are not important: scammers change them too often. At worst, we can check if the email address exists, but that won’t tell us if a scammer is behind the screen or not, especially since it’s very easy to create a gmail or hotmail address.

What’s needed is to identify the scam scenarios: traveling abroad, request for a money order, offers that are too good to be true.

Generally speaking, if we have a doubt, there's no doubt that it's a scam.

Good evening, to determine whether an email might simply be a scam, first look at the message. These types of messages often contain major spelling mistakes; they are exaggerated (catastrophic situation, incredible event). Pay attention to the message from the person who sent this email; wouldn’t it seem strange to receive an email from a stranger?

If links are included in these emails, it is strongly advised not to click on them, as they may simply contain:

- Redirects to phishing sites.
- Links to exploits or computer worms.

  A computer worm is a malicious program that has the ability to reproduce itself on multiple computers; it can spread:
  
  -Via the Internet
  -Via emails
  
  A phishing site, or a spoofing site, creates a copy of a page from an official site in order to trap the gullible.
  Example:
  You receive an email, supposedly from Orange, offering you an iPhone 5S for only 40 euros, great :), it gives you the link to the "official Orange" site, you enter your banking details on the fake site and the scammers fill their pockets by draining your account.
  To distinguish these "fake web pages," all you have to do is check the URL link,
  If you see a link like: Orgqj540sgsg.net, you can stop right away
  (even if the page may appear almost authentic to the official Orange site)
  
  An exploit is a program that can allow software to take advantage of a vulnerability in your system,
  
  What does that mean?
  
  All it takes is for you to visit a hacked site, for the hackers to have inserted their program into the page, and if it finds a flaw in a software that hasn't been updated, the program can self-execute and thus infect your computer. That is why it is imperative to ALWAYS update your software and remove unused ones. (The same goes for emails; you click on the link without thinking when it is actually a redirection to an exploit)

  It just takes using your critical thinking and common sense to weed out these little scammers who are all over Social Networks and Dating Sites..

    You can easily make fakes.. There was even, a few years ago, a website where you could create fake W.U receipts with various appearances (The one smeared with cat poop was particularly successful..). It was intended to 'fool' scammers..
    
    In any case, a company that recruits NEVER asks candidates to pay anything.. If a candidate is really of interest to them, all expenses (Travel, visa, etc..) are covered..
    
    Your story is similar to that of the fake coach enticing young Africans with a trip to Manchester or other prestigious football clubs.. And of course, they had to pay for the 'application' and other trivialities..
    
    For my part, I think you are in a scam (Payment of half the application fee to start, then other costs will come..).
    
    Do you really know this 'friend' (In person..)??
    
    Be very careful, we wouldn't want you to be scammed!!
