50 Hz (CMR 200 Hz) 100 Hz (CMI 200 Hz)

Hello everyone

I want to buy a 140 cm LED TV, but there are 2 models that I don't understand: 50 Hz (CMR 200 Hz) and 100 Hz (CMI 200 Hz). I ask the seller and he replies it's 200 Hz. I wonder why there is 50 or 100 before
and what CMI and CMR stand for.

    Hello Geg is pleased to respond to you, the briefing explains that 50/60 Hz is the native frequency of most televisions and you find us a specimen at 100 Hz; could we know about this rare beast?

    If it's for this model: Samsung UE40D5700

    On the technical sheet, you can see CMR 100 Hz mentioned. However, it is not a true 100 Hz panel. Samsung has simply implemented backlight scanning to artificially increase the frequency from 50 to 100 Hz. The only positive point of this system is that it eliminates motion blur, which doesn't do much to reduce the persistence of the screens. The stuttering in movies is also still present.

      Thank you for the response, but my question was quite different. I saw in the catalog 50Hz (CMI 200Hz), and I wanted to know if I should consider the 50Hz or the 200Hz, and the same for the other TV 100Hz (200Hz CMR). What do CMI or CMR mean?
      The first one is a Thomson and the second one is a Samsung; I wonder which one is more reliable.

    thank you for your explanation, does that mean that it is really at 50Hz and not at 200Hz? It's a Samsung UE55F6100, I think I'm going to choose another one

      Yes, it is at 50Hz like all the others and it has, like all the others, at least an electronic double scan process (100Hz). The designations of 200, 400, or even 600Hz are just smoke and mirrors, if I may express it that way, because beyond 100Hz, the human eye cannot see the difference.

    Hello. The higher the resolution, the clearer the image. 2015 is better than 100Hz, but if you can buy a higher resolution, it's even better. Good luck!
