Good evening,
A couple of nights ago, by mistake, I spilled oil on my Toshiba laptop keyboard.
I immediately cleaned the surface with paper, but it was insufficient since the oil penetrated the keyboard and remained between and under the keys!
As a result, most of the keys are malfunctioning. This means that I have to apply a certain amount of pressure on a key for the letter to display (by pressing hard or by pressing the same key multiple times in a row, which tires me, costs me precious time, and risks further damaging the affected keys).
Currently, I am using the on-screen keyboard (which I find impractical for daily use) while waiting to find a solution.
So, do you have any effective resolutions to suggest? (Aside from changing the entire keyboard or throwing my laptop in the trash...) :'(

Hello.
If you have a USB desktop keyboard, connect it to your PC and you can use it.
Already, water doesn't mix well, so oil... I can't even imagine the state of the keyboard!!-

Thank you for your reply. But no, I don't have another keyboard.
However, I found online that it is possible to remove the keys from the keyboard in order to clean underneath, etc. I watched some tutorial videos...
And knowing that the oil doesn't dry, I won't have any problem cleaning it! What do you think? -

By the way, I took apart all the keys on the keyboard, washed them with water and soap. Then with a damp but well-wrung towel, I cleaned the underside of the keys. After that, I did the same thing with a dry towel. All traces of oil disappeared, but the keys still didn’t work. So, I finally bought a new laptop keyboard that I assembled myself.
