Hello everyone,
I have a little problem with the connection of this home theater.
If I understand correctly, if I only connect it to the TV it won't work. I have to have cables connecting it to the decoder, to the PS3, and to the laptop if I want to watch movies on the TV?
I thought just connecting it to the TV would be enough...
I have a Sony TV KDL-32V5500, which input should I choose to connect it to the home theater?
Thanks in advance for your help.

OK, thank you very much for your help, I'm going to order the cable on Amazon and see how it goes, I'll keep you posted.
Connecting the TV to the home theater with three-color cables (red/white/yellow) isn’t possible?

Hello,
To keep it simple, connect all your devices via HDMI to your TV (there are 4 HDMI connections on your TV), and for the sound, just plug a digital optical "TOSLINK" cable between your TV and the amplifier.
Example of connection regarding video:
1) DECODER <-- HDMI CABLE --> HDMI 1 TV.
2) PS3 <-- HDMI CABLE --> HDMI 2 TV.
3) LAPTOP <-- HDMI CABLE --> HDMI 3 TV.
And for sound:
DIGITAL OPTICAL OUT TV <-- OPTICAL CABLE "TOSLINK" --> OPTICAL VIDEO 2 IN SONY AMPLIFIER.
You will of course need to set your TV to optical audio out and select the corresponding audio input on the amplifier.
If you need more explanations, feel free to ask.
Best regards ;-)

Uh, let's say it's a home theater system that I got for free, and it seems to me that it was connected with a cable like this, and I have this available, so I was wondering if just with this cable it would work.
Now, a toslink cable is not expensive at all, and if I can get much better quality, why not.

Wonderful, you have answered your own question:
-->
There’s no comparison, the sound quality will be vastly superior, RCA connectors are analog, while optical is digital, there’s no comparison possible, digital is the best, trust me ;-)

Hello,
I bought the Toslink cable and connected it from the amplifier to the TV, but it still doesn't work.
Regarding the TV, if we refer to the user manual here: http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4136111241.pdf
On page 146 of the PDF, in the audio settings, I set:
"Speaker" -> Audio system
For the amplifier, (user manual: http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4252084212.pdf) I can't find where to connect the TV. There is indeed page 32, where they talk about this coaxial input. I press the "DVD" button (the only one that allows me to have the "Coaxial" option), then I press input in to select coaxial, but nothing happens.
I am completely lost and didn't think connecting a home theater would be this complicated... :-(
I feel like the problem is that I can't select the TV on the amplifier.
Thank you for your help.

Good evening,
Are you sure you bought the right cable?
This cable is in no way a "Coaxial" cable, so I don't see why you're looking for the "Audio Coaxial" option on your amp, it's "Optical".
Either by selecting "VIDEO 2 IN" or "SA-CD/CD IN", and there you should find the "OPTICAL" options and not "COAXIAL".
PS: Did you remember to remove the little plastic caps from each plug???

It's good, it's working, it was the right cable, I just hadn't selected "opt". Thank you very much for helping me, I admire your patience ;-)
However, strangely enough, I had managed to get the center speaker, the 2 front speakers, and the subwoofer to work.
I moved them to their permanent spots by unplugging and replugging them, and now the 2 front speakers no longer work while the other 2 do, despite keeping the same configuration.
When I press "test tone" on the remote to test the speakers, the 2 front speakers do not respond as if they were improperly connected, but I have rechecked the connections for these front speakers several times; it's strange.
And coincidentally, both at the same time. Did I make a mistake? I see where I could have gone wrong; do you have any advice?
