My car stereo doesn’t read all the songs on the USB stick. Solved

Question

Hello, My JVC car radio only plays 250 songs saved on the USB key out of the 490 that are on it. How can I read all the songs? Thanks in advance for your responses.   Configuration: Windows Vista / Firefox 24.0

Hi,  are they all in the same directory? Or directly at the root of the key?  The manual states that the device cannot recognize more than 255 files per directory...  -- A+ blux  "Les cons, ça ose tout.C'est même à ça qu'on les reconnait"

Hello,   I think this is due to the format of your music, try converting them to .mp3. I don’t think you can add an audio codec to your car radio...

Hi, "NOT SUPPORT" does not appear on the display. The songs are sorted by title. How to create a directory? This way, I’ll create two and then I would have all the songs: simplistic, but is that correct?

Hello again, Thanks for the link, but I have the instruction manual. I’ll do as you suggested, but I still notice on page 19 that: "this car stereo can recognize a maximum of 512 files, 255 folders and 8 levels of hierarchy" Since I have sorted my songs in alphabetical order, isn’t each of the songs then a file?

Yes, every song is an audio file... and we’re back to your initial question! 
There I’m stuck! 
To start, create folders, or directories, or albums; if it starts again, you’ll need to isolate the “recalcitrant” tracks with MediaInfo (portable version) to check their technical information: codecs, etc.

Hello, I finally found the time to create some files. After testing, everything is fine; however, note that I cannot perform random access reading on the entire set of files, but only on the selected file. Finally, with a small trick on the car radio, I can listen to everything I’ve recorded. Thanks again for your answers. Have a great weekend.
