I just replaced my rechargeable phone batteries with 1000 mAh instead of 550 mAh (actually, they were the only ones available in the store). From what I just read, it is not dangerous for my device!!!

I called an old number that I had written down in my manual; it's Général Electronique in USSEL and they were able to help me by using both handsets at the same time... So on that front, I now have the French... However, my answering machine still doesn't work... I can't make any adjustments on the base... I tried with the handset but I think I must have forgotten or made a mistake again!!
I have to be away now so I will look into it later "when I am more relaxed"...!!

Of course, my answering machine is in the "main base" - (where there are 3 buttons: announcement, answering machine, and one with + and -) these are the buttons I can no longer use to set my answering machine again; However, it can be done from the handset, but I haven't had the time to take care of it yet!!
Moreover, I have thought about a problem ... Since my friends can still leave messages on my answering machine, hearing my voice and theirs, then it might be a sound issue that is causing me not to hear anything. Even when I press the buttons!!!..... So tomorrow I'm going to borrow a tiny cross screwdriver and I'm going to open the base to see if, by any chance, one of the internal parts might have a problem;...!!!

I must admit I don't really see the connection with the answering machine, whether it's that of the ISP or the phone itself... neither is affected even by the complete absence of battery in the mobiles... unless the base has been unplugged for a long time, and even then...
As for the NiMh model..., indeed, BUT since she only talks about the power, I suppose she used the same batteries...

For the answering machine, it's probably me making an error, but I need to have it tested by one of my friends when she's available, to see if it works like before!

What I mean is that it's either your PHYSICAL phone that has a voicemail, or it's your operator's messaging service... for example, for Neuf or SFR, you have to call 147... do you press a button or do you call a number to listen to your messages?

However, my 2 phones are already at their maximum charge... The only thing I'm wondering is whether my answering machine will have kept my original message!!

A charger designed for NiCd batteries will reduce the lifespan of NiMh batteries..
As for Lithium batteries... they require a very special charger.
