Hello;
After researching, it appears that this message comes from an issue with the used ink system and the counter needs to be reset (Never tested as I don't have this type of printer)
See this link and activate the cursor to reach the IP4200 printer
See you for the result

Hello,
I had (over 2 years ago) 1 green blink followed by 8 orange ones then 1 green, my printer was stuck, I performed the indicated manipulation and my IP 4000 was unblocked.
Now I have 1 green, 5 orange, and 1 green (5 orange blinks) indicating a head problem.
It is noted for correction: replace the head or have the printer repaired. (error 5700)
In a similar failure on a forum, a person replaced the head and it solved the problem.
In the service manual for the PIXMA IP4000, there is said to be a service tool for this equipment, I am looking for it.
If you need the address for the service manual, leave me a message.

Thank you for your response, but it is not working.
The power button is flashing green, but the paper inverter is not functioning.
With all my thanks. -
Thank you for your help, but the problem persists.
I am thinking of switching to a different printer.-
Hello;
Sorry but I couldn't find any other solutions and Canon is quite "stingy" with online troubleshooting advice. Before replacing this printer, it might be worth insisting on the proposed solutions (browse Google) (For your information, I had the same model but Pixma IP 4200-R version and all of a sudden nothing worked >> Even after replacing the cartridges and print head >> Result: Nothing and Canon did not offer me any solution except to return the machine, which I unfortunately preferred to replace as well but not with a Canon)
Best regards

It was exactly that, after an hour of searching and the help of this site (see below, in the section on 8 blinks, even though it only blinks 5!!)

Hello;
While pushing my research, I came across this link which "says" that the Orange blinking x5 comes from an error 5700 and on another link >> this one there is a resolution for the problem ?? > Worth trying
See you + for the result
