Hello
Is this PC already old?
And what is the exact model of your PC? Gericom Cinema XXL > xxxxxxx
You need to know the hardware configuration of the PC to see if you can install Win 7 on it.

PS. Frequently create a restore point! It solves quite a few problems.

Hello, yes it's a bit of an old model, it's from 2005. It's not a PC, it's a portable (or rather a transportable, 5 kg) from the brand Gericom (Austria), called "Cinéma XXL 3080" because it has a 17" screen with 5 speakers, a sound that rocks, and it's great for watching movies. It's a Pentium 4, with a CPU of 3.00 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, and an ATI 9700 graphics card with 128 MB...
System: XP Home Edition version 2002, Service Pack 3.
Configuration: Windows XP / Firefox 20.0.
For what I do with it, it's enough for me: watching movies, listening to music, and surfing the web.
Now I live in Mexico, so I don't move it around much, it stays at home.
(My wife has a newer Acer laptop, it's a real piece of junk, all plastic and it keeps crashing (of course it's running Vista)).
I hope this gives you a bit more information.
Thank you.

If you only have 1 GB of memory, you cannot install a 64-bit Windows 7 on this PC.
Even with a 32-bit Windows 7, it's not enough because you also need memory for the rest of the applications and programs.

P.S. Frequently create a restore point! This solves quite a few problems.

Hello "tribun", When I run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it tells me that it is possible.
Additionally, I have an Acer Aspire One mini laptop that originally came with Windows 7 and yet it only has 1 GB of memory.
So I will try it, since I have two hard drives; if it doesn't work, I will just put the other one back.
Thank you anyway for your advice.
