I am a simple Sage user for three weeks. I currently have a lot of items that I need to enter into inventory management and these items are in an Excel file. I would like to know if there is a possibility to import them directly into Sage. This would significantly reduce the time I will spend entering these data.
Thank you for your help if anyone can assist me in solving this problem automatically.

Hello,
I am an accountant and recently we installed SAGE 100 accounting.
Small issue, every time I run an import script, SAGE replies to me:
"You are not the owner of the database, you cannot modify the following fields...."
Therefore, my import fails miserably!!!
Do you have any idea???
Thanks in advance

Try to go to WORKSTATION or COMPUTER, then go to the C DRIVE of your computer; then go to the PROGRAM folder and look for the MAESTRIA folder; open it and you will see a file named MAESTRIA; select it, right-click on it, and select TROUBLESHOOT COMPATIBILITY, then follow the instructions.
Hello,
Do you have an original CD of your software? If so, you will find the manual in a <sage> directory, and from there, in the appendices of the GC manual, you will find all the necessary information.
If not, try looking in File/Configurable Import Export Format. But in this submenu, not all fields are accessible yet.
The best option is to use the format with flags # that recognizes all the fields in the database. But for that, you need the manual.
Good luck!</sage>

Hi VIVI,
Thank you for your help, now I am able to import data successfully, I have created an import format and I was able to import my articles.
The problem is that I can't make updates for the import.
For example: I imported an article X with a range Y, then I modified the range in my txt file and now I want to import article X but with range Z.
I don't know if I'm making myself understood :=(
PS: I have the original CD and also the manual.
Thanks

The update in import parameters is not possible. On the other hand, as soon as an item is moved in a document (sale, purchase, or stock), fields range 1 and 2 can no longer be modified, even when entering data in the item sheet.
For updates, you must either use line formats 30 and 100, or set up the Sage ODBC driver and connect either an Excel sheet or an Access database with the Sage database.
You will find many discussions on this topic in the Sage user forum https://zoom.us/?utm_source=zoom.fr

Hello Yves from Paris,
There are 3 import formats in Sage L100:
- Sage format (a very specific file)
- Parameterizable format (fixed-length format file)
- PNM, PNC formats (fixed-length format file, primarily used for accounts and accounting entries)
Only the parameterizable format would allow import from a TXT file extracted from Excel with or without a separator.
See on http://segs.free.fr/Pages/segs-documentation.html
Best regards,
Phil

3. **Importation des données** :
- Ouvrez votre fichier Sage Compta.
