Reinstall Toshiba portable Vista without CD

Hello everyone,
My daughter has a Toshiba Satellite L350 laptop. The issue she's currently facing is that the system freezes when launching Vista. Apparently, there is an error code regarding a USB device! The problem is that I can't do anything; I tried to start in safe mode, but when it attempts to recover the files, it freezes again and can't get through. I wanted to format it to restore it to factory settings, but I can't find the recovery DVD I created at the beginning with the recovery system. I've gone through various posts...
My question is: is there, like on some laptops such as "Acer" or others, an F. key on Toshiba laptops that would allow me to possibly find a hidden partition to access recovery and reset the PC to factory settings?
I must admit that I am desperate!!!

    I have exactly the same PC at home and I have the manual which includes a copy of the factory restore procedure from the recovery partition.

    WARNING:

    It is essential to connect the power adapter. Otherwise, the battery might run out during the process.
    When you reinstall the Windows® operating system, the hard drive will be formatted and consequently, all data will be irretrievably erased.

    1. Turn off the computer.
    2. Restart the computer. When the TOSHIBA screen appears, press the F8 key several times.
    3. The Advanced Boot Options menu will appear. Use the arrow keys to select Repair Your
    Computer and press Enter.
    4. Select your desired keyboard layout and click Next.
    5. To access the restore process, log in as an activated user with sufficient rights.
    6. Click on TOSHIBA HDD Recovery in the System Recovery Options screen.
    7. Follow the instructions that appear in the TOSHIBA HDD Recovery dialog box.
    The factory values of the computer will then be restored.

    There you go, by the way, were you able to recover your photo, music data.....................?

      Thank you, Mickael, for replying so quickly. I will test it as soon as I get home from work. My daughter's data is also on an external hard drive connected to a desktop computer... My concern is that she can use it, and I've been unsure what to do for a week now. Thanks for your information.

      hello mickae@, so I did the procedure, everything is fine until when I click on "repair the computer" and press Enter, I'm not given the option to select the keyboard layout, the system starts loading the files and freezes, it can't finish....
      I really thank you, apparently I really have a big problem...
