Access an FTP with a URL?

Hello,
Well, you'll see it's really not complicated and more efficient than some FTP software.
Instead of typing http://, you will type, for example for free.fr, ftp://ftpperso.free.fr
And that's it! A prompt will ask you to enter your credentials, and that's it!
See you later

Kalamit,
I sand, therefore I wipe

Hello, I don't really understand your explanation, could you please start over?
I'm with Sympatico, what should I enter for the FTP?

Here is my address;
www3.sympatico.ca/***.***/

How should I enter that with the FTP, please?
Thank you in advance!
Christian

Hello,
You need to give me the FTP server address of Sympatico, otherwise I can't respond to you!
How would you configure your FTP client? (CuteFTP, for example...)
