Wires too thick for an RJ45 connector?

Hello,
I'm getting into Ethernet cabling.
My house is pre-wired with category 5e cable, but the ends of the cables are not connected.
I bought male RJ45 connectors and I'm trying to attach them to the ends of the cables. I'm following all the instructions to the letter (stripping, untwisting, straightening the wires, cutting to 13 mm, etc.).
Nothing works: the wires won't fit into the holes of the connector; they start to go in, but get stuck halfway, making it impossible to push them all the way to the contacts.
My male connectors have no reference, especially no class indication (5, 5e, 6).
Are there different models, with holes that are more or less large to accommodate the diameter of the wires?
Otherwise, do you have any idea what could be preventing the wires from going all the way into the holes? I even tried stripping and untwisting too much, in case the sheath was too thick: no difference, the problem lies elsewhere.
When the assembly goes well, should you exert significant force to push the wires into the holes?

I am not a specialist in the subject at all, but I have a few observations/questions.
Normally, the cables run through the walls are meant to connect to wall-mounted female RJ45 sockets, whose crimping is completely different from a male plug. The wall wires are often single-stranded wires (one single copper wire) and the cable is not very flexible. In contrast, the cables used for free connections (male/male between the wall socket and the PC) are flexible multi-stranded cables, with each wire made up of several very thin copper strands.
What type of cable do you have?

Yes, I think we should also install female sockets to create a mini patch panel.
And the single-stranded wires could be the reason for the incompatibility with the male sockets.

Thank you for this information. While rereading the documentation I found for crimping male connectors, it explicitly mentions flexible, multi-stranded conductors.
Moreover, upon thinking a little (what I should have done earlier), I realize that the contacts of the male connector that penetrate the conductors are aligned with the wire. The two prongs cannot thus overlap the wire when passing through the insulation! With flexible multi-strands, the prongs slide between the strands.
On the contrary, with a wall socket, the self-stripping connection is perpendicular to the wire, which allows the two prongs to indeed overlap the wire.

These are single-strand cables, one strand per wire.
These cables are indeed connected in each room to a wall outlet.
My question pertains to the other end of the cables, where they converge in the technical duct. I would like to crimp male connectors there, which would connect to the output of the router: the one integrated with my Freebox, which I want to install in this location.
Doubt is creeping in: maybe I should bring these cables to a row of female RJ45 sockets, which would then be connected by short male-to-male cords (like a patch panel)? I will check the literature on this matter.
It must be said that my initial solution was more economical...
