Hello,
I have often found solutions from this site and today I have a new concern.
I would like to know how to obtain an umlaut (i tréma) from my laptop which has a German keyboard.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thank you, and good evening everyone.
gigi.

Hi,

So if it works like on French keyboards, you can make special characters by pressing Alt + "ascii number".
Here’s a table that works for me at least for the "ï" that I just made by typing "139" on my numeric keypad while holding down "Alt": http://www.error-page.com/pages_fr/404.php

Otherwise, at worst, there's always the character map in the start menu accessories > system tools. And you can just copy and paste.

Hi Raph,
thank you for your help because it really unlocked things for me. I indeed tried with the "139" while holding down ALT and it works.
Once again, thank you
and have a good evening.

It's simpler!!!
for the cedilla: AltGr + accent key (before the backspace) and then c
for the diaeresis: AltGr + ü and then i
