    Good evening,

    To restore file associations:
Download this utility --> RstAssociations (Version .scr)
and place it on the desktop.

    Run it as an administrator
    Click on all and restore.

    Restart the PC.

On the file that you don’t want to open with this software, right-click >> open with >> choose the desired application >> check always select this program to open this type of file.

Hello, on the icon on my desktop, I right-click, then I open the file location, then I click open and after that I have a multitude of programs to choose from but I don't know which one to select.

What happens is that .lnk or .exe or .jpg or etc. is the extension of a shortcut. By opening it by default with an application
you can no longer use the shortcuts. Here’s how to fix it.

1- Go to start and in the search bar, type Regedit. Look at the top and click on Regedit.exe. Then click continue.

2- The registry editor will open, you will see 5 HKEY folders. Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER

      3- Then, click on Software

      4- Then, click on Microsoft

      5- Then, click on Windows

6- Then, click on Current Version

      7 Then, click on Explorer

      8 Then, click on FileExts

9- Then, click on .lnk or the file type that corresponds to your problem.

10- Then, you will see UserChoice. Delete that file.

      11- Close the registry editor

12- Log off and restart the session or the computer for your icons to be restored.

      For Windows XP:

Go to All Programs, ==> Accessories ==> Command Prompt ==> Type Regedit.exe ==> Enter (Press Enter) ==> Follow the tutorial above.

Hello, I have the same but different problem, it's annoying I can open all programs with ONE single program, even if I change the default program I select Photoshop to open Photoshop and then select iTunes to open iTunes, but only one default program can be activated, here is the image of my desktop you will understand.
