Samsung Player Style F480 won't turn on!

Hello,
last night, I was on the phone and my f480 almost had no battery left, anyway, it turns off and I plug it into the power outlet, then I try to turn it back on and there, Impossible! It won't turn on anymore, I try to recharge it, it no longer charges, I plug it into the computer: no reaction. I remove the battery and put it back, I turn it on and I see just the beginning of the startup then it turns off in 1/2 seconds. And for that to happen, I have to remove and replace the battery every time.

I urgently need your help!

Thank you in advance, I am desperate.

PS: I ordered my Samsung + a subscription online with Virgin Mobile.
Configuration: Windows XP Internet Explorer 7.0

This morning, the same problem as mentioned above with my SGH-F480...
So to turn it back on I tried different combinations of buttons...

    Here’s the result:

For example: Volume+Hold (top button)+Camera app+Center (bottom button) => Boot Loader version to flash

To restart the phone => Hold+End call (right button)

For other models, do some tests and good luck ;)

    Enjoy :D

I tried to do this because I'm in the same situation; I recharged it last night and this morning it won't turn on. However, the battery hasn't swollen like it could with the Nokia N70, but I really need my phone. So aside from trying these manipulations, is there another way (other than changing the battery)?

Remove the battery, moistening its terminals with your fingertip, and for me, it worked.

I left it for a few weeks without touching it, and one day I charged it and suddenly... it turns on without any problems!! :)

I had the same problem today.
I removed the battery and then put it back ---> the problem was not resolved.

So I randomly pressed either the 'volume down' button or the 'power' button simultaneously for a few seconds and then the 'power on' button, and it worked.

Now I don't know if it was just luck....

I'm explaining to you that if you often leave your phone on, since the battery is crappy, it wears out quickly. The only solution is to buy a new battery :( that's what I had to do! The battery costs no more than 25 euros, I believe. Anyway, I wish you a good continuation :)

    Hello,

I have a problem with my Samsung F480 phone, it won't turn on. I've flashed it several times, the flashing process works normally, but the problem is that it doesn't display anything on the screen during the flash and I can't turn it on. I really don't know what to do.

Do you have any ideas, please?

I have the same issue as you, it ran out of battery, because of Orange Save going crazy it spent the day trying to send my contacts and this morning I put it on charge, it wouldn't turn off so I removed the battery and now it won't restart, I'm so frustrated, I've only had it for a year!
    Does anyone have a solution?

    Hello,

It seems that the F480 is a problem magnet... Mine, after falling into a body of water, had its right button stop working, except to turn it back on... Today, I wanted to test another phone, so I removed my SIM card to insert it into the other phone. When I put it back in my Samsung, and had to turn my phone back on, I encountered an issue: my button to turn it back on seems to have definitely failed me. It's annoying, as I have things I would like to recover from the phone's memory...
    What should I do?

I have a response in all cases: change the battery

and if the problem persists, the phone has had a short circuit

Hello. I had the same problem; my phone was discharged for several hours. After that, I tried to connect it to the computer, and there was no reaction. It turns on well, but it turns off immediately. To turn it back on, I have to remove the battery and put it back. I had already changed my battery three months ago. Can you please tell me what to do?

      Same problem.

Is there a way to fix this? I can't turn it on, no response at all.
What type of battery is compatible with the f480?
What phone batteries can be used with the f480?

      Thank you.

    Hello,
I have the same problem but with a Player One S5230. I had almost no battery left and unfortunately my Player One fell on the ground, the case opened and the battery came out. So I put the battery and the case back on, then I tried to turn it on but it was impossible. I plugged the charger into the outlet and it charged. I waited about an hour and a half, then I tried to turn it on again; it powered on, I entered the password, but when I reached the home screen of the phone, it turned off and started charging again. So I tried connecting it to the computer but nothing happened. Then I tried removing the battery, the memory card, and the SIM card, then I put everything back and tried to turn it on; still nothing. Plus, I didn't mention that I can only turn my phone on with the charger, and the charger works; without the charger, it doesn't turn on at all—impossible.

So that's what happened with my Player One S5230. Have a good day and thank you for taking the time to read my post. Goodbye.

I also have a Samsung Player One with a Virgin subscription that I received just 3 days ago.
Last night I turned it off and this morning when I tried to turn it back on, there was no response.
I did like many of you said, I opened the cache, moistened the battery and it worked again.
I want to clarify that I got my phone through meilleurmobile.com, the site where one subscription = one gift. I thought, well, it's a crappy phone, but at the same time, you can't have your cake and eat it too.
Well, apparently I was wrong; I think it's really the Samsung Players that have issues.

With my old phone, I had the same problem: I forgot it at someone else's place and I only managed to get it back a month later, so of course the battery was at 0 and the phone was off. Anyway, I charged it, but it didn't work, I mean it wouldn't even charge. So I removed the battery from the phone and blew into it to get rid of the dust, etc. I plugged the phone into the charger and it came back to life. :D
(Well now I have the Samsung F480i so I might have the same problem again. In between, I had a Sony Ericsson, and with it, no such issues, but a lot of other ones. ;)

Thank you, I blew into it and it showed signs of life, even if it's not quite there yet XD.
