in the legend of zelda the wind waker ; in a mercantile (in d2) ; a boy (the boy who likes to admire the sky and is sitting on the stairs crying) tells me:
'You will need to show me something round and yellow.
If you can show me this thing that I like, you will have won. And I will acknowledge that I can be understood.
If you think you know me, you should have no problem understanding what I'm talking about.'
Could you tell me what this object is and where to find it? Thank you!

My problem, which I sent a while ago, is CLIMBING onto the island. I only have the claw grappling hook and I think you need the regular grappling hook, but can you have both at the same time in your inventory?

Yes, we can have both in the same inventory; without the grappling hook, it's impossible to climb up to the island! But if you've completed the Earth Temple, you must have it; anyway, we can't defeat the boss without it! So come back to the island a bit later when you find the grappling hook! As for me, I'm good; I found the island and now I'm at the end, battling Ganon. In any case, thanks for the advice because I don't like looking up solutions at all, there's really no interest... but I spent two nights exploring the entire map, and I thought I was going to go crazy!
