Hello,
I would like to know how to display movie covers instead of the VLC logo
I have the covers and the movies, but I don't know how to "associate" them.
Similarly for the music, I have album covers and songs, but I don’t know how to display the cover. There is the VLC logo...
Thank you for responding if you have a solution.

to my knowledge, I don't think so, apart from WMP, I don't know if it exists. The KM Player is like VLC, but I don't think it does that. I'll take a look to see if I can find something

Re
I don't know about that, I only know Winamp, and even then just by name, and I don't know about video, just like the others, I'm discovering them too. But in my opinion, none, even WMP, shows movie covers, only album covers, because I have them on the Media Center, so I rarely use WMP, I use The KM Player instead.
A+

Thank you, ziggurat, for replying to me.
I checked what was being said in the cublic forums, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for.
To make it simpler, I have a video (in mpeg format) and its cover; and I just want to merge the cover with its corresponding film (so that when I click "view; large icons; I can see the cover and not the VLC logo
I'm looking for whether there's any manipulation to do or anything else. Thank you
Best regards

Hello
With the latest VLC, you can add the cover to the metadata or playlist by right-clicking on the icon and then downloading the cover for each album
I'm not really sure if that's what you want to do ;) so maybe this is a start.

Hello
on VLC and The KM Player it is not possible, only on WMP that this happens automatically without doing anything, it is the one that searches for CD and DVD covers in a database on the web

Thank you, Maccoy37, for responding to me.
Is there a way to do it manually without going through WMP or other similar software that does it automatically?
I don't like WMP (despite K-lite) and I prefer VLC.
Best regards.

Hello anthoboss13,
Personally, I'm not sure if this is feasible, but maybe it is, maybe it's not! But I have some doubts about the possibility of altering the image of an .exe file.
Take a look here: https://www.clubic.com/forum/t/comment-remplacer-icone-dun-programme/213341
I have also seen a few paid software that could potentially do it.
Of course, there are all the file management software that can do that, but I don’t think that’s what you’re asking, although... if that’s the case, the answers from maccoy37 are suitable.
Check if the solution proposed by blueoystercult in this message works.
I didn't know about it, so I’m not sure if you can customize each file individually or not. Moreover, it seems to involve creating icons without a software being associated, which is different, at least if I understood correctly, which is not certain... :-/
In short, the icons are linked to the software that opens the file; however, if it’s for folders, it's easier: right-click --> Properties --> Customize --> Change icon. That's the solution now that I think about it, proposed by blueoystercult. It works with .dll files or with .gif or .ico files, if I remember correctly. By the way, my personal folder features "the Pink Panther," but I can't remember how I did that. Oh, now I remember, it's a .ico file obtained from a download on some site back when I was discovering the Internet and downloading a bit of everything, especially anything, which is a risky practice I no longer engage in! I have those .ico files in my Images folder (a different one than the classic one on drive C) and I don’t touch them anymore.
Best regards

With the "Thumbnails" display, you have the first image of the movie, that's already something... Meh
After, to achieve exactly what you want to do, I don’t know if it’s really possible, at least it goes beyond my skills. It’s more in the realm of programming in my opinion.
However, check out this discussion, it might give you some ideas, I don’t know: http://www.commentcamarche.net/forum/affich 3127490 changer l icone du vlc player
Personal reflection, why not after all ;) : plus I wonder what purpose it would serve for software developers to toil away to find an icon recognizable at first glance, and that a software or something could modify the appearance of their identity.
And if that were possible, wouldn’t it touch on the very property of the software, despite the fact that VLC is under the GNU/GPL license, which means free?
Good luck with the rest ;)
See you!

Hello,
I am also looking for a solution to easily add covers to movies so I can watch them through my WD HD TV player. I managed to add them as thumbnails manually, but I wanted to know if I could do it through iTunes or WMP.
Thank you.

Hello!
You can also get the covers using iTunes, just like that! You just need to have an iTunes account to access this feature. Plus, by creating your iTunes account, you'll also be able to use the Genius application!
How to get an account WITHOUT entering a credit card information?? Easy peasy!
Instead of signing up on the official website, or by going into the iTunes Store by clicking on “Sign In” and then “Create New Account”, go to the “App Store” (Once in the iTunes store, in the menu bar at the top) and download a FREE APPLICATION like a game, or a game demo for instance. Then, once you've selected and clicked on the app, on the left, you'll see the “Free App” button, click on it, and then you'll be asked to sign in; of course, click a bit higher on “Create New Account”, “Continue”, accept the iTunes Terms and Conditions, then enter all the necessary information (enter your real date of birth, even if you're a minor, it doesn't change anything, but it can help you recover a lost password, from experience ;)!), and then click on “Continue”. Now, you will notice that unlike the direct sign-up, there is no option “None” at the top right of the American Express option, so check “None”, and you will not be required to enter any credit card information, but you will still need to fill in the information in the “Address” section at the bottom, and it’s secure, you have nothing to worry about ;) ! And there you go!
So, once in iTunes, (if you’ve added at least one track to your library), go to “Music”, select all the available tracks (or more simply, left click on one track and then Ctrl+A), go to “Advanced” (located in the menu bar at the very top of the window, and then “Get Album Artwork”
***** WARNING! However, you will need to enter all the information related to the ALBUM NAMES of your tracks in iTunes (Right click + Get Info, on the track(s)) Look in the iTunes Store for help. *****
To select multiple items, Ctrl + Left Click. Alternatively, by holding down Shift, click on one track (still left-click), then, while still holding Shift, choose another track by left-clicking a few tracks further: this will select all the tracks in between the two clicks you made.
Best regards!
