Why is my Freebox stuck at step 6 during the firmware download?

I have the same problem, I'm stuck at step 6. I called technical support and they said they would take care of it. I've been waiting for a week already and it's really annoying me. Check in the DSLAM to see if you have a network issue.

Well, I've been waiting since October 25, 2004 for Free to resolve this issue for me.
Let's just say they don't care at all, and neither do I actually; all I'm waiting for is to move so I can cancel and never sign up again with this crappy ISP.
My line works fine with a Sagem Fast 800 that I purchased out of my own pocket. However, no free phone...

Since 3 weeks, there have been synchronization cuts with my Freebox. After checking my line, the problem is not resolved. I then performed an update, and it worked for a week, but now it has started again with repetitive cuts. I would like to know what I should do before making a decision about cancellation.

Welcome to the club.
Since my switch to ADSL MAX and the FT wiring, my Freebox no longer synchronizes; according to Free, we have to wait for updates for the Freebox, which would be more to blame than anything else.

Well, Free took its time, but after two weeks it's back. Good luck to those who are still struggling.

Last week, the Freebox stopped loading the update. After contacting customer support, which was pointless because the guy advised me to reboot and try other solutions I had already tested, he told me to wait a few days. Well, finally after two weeks, the Freebox resynchronized, it's on time, but I still don't have access to web pages. In fact, I can upload at 24 KB/s, but I can't download more than 1 KB/s. That's the weird thing because I can download very slowly but I can't access web pages.
Is there a solution or is Free really messing with everyone???

First of all, I would like to know if you use any specific firewall or antivirus (or even anti-malware) because it is often these poorly configured programs that cause issues...

On the other hand, you should know that France Telecom is dragging its feet... they are losing quite a few customers and unfortunately, since the infrastructure belongs to them, they are taking advantage of it...
So before criticizing Free (which works very well when FT is not messing up), call France Telecom and tell them how you feel... like they are increasing your subscription... really honest, isn’t it? ...

You also have the option to patch your Freebox by asking a friend who has internet access to download the Freebox firmware updates from the ADSL site of Free....

As for the synchronization issues, they come from France Telecom, I'm speaking from experience... after working in a network team with web access provided by Oleane... I can tell you that even the service reserved for professionals (Oleane = Wanadoo for professionals) takes advantage, like network outages on major routes in the Paris region... and this happens often... slow intervention and bad faith to avoid immediately opening a case and having to reimburse for time and profit losses... especially when companies host professional sites!!!

In fact, we are the victims of the war being waged between ISPs and FT... that’s liberalism for you...

for me I quite agree with the fact that they mess things up a bit...
to establish an already dominant position on the internet.
Once I contacted them by phone with a formal notice to take them to court via 60 million consumers and strangely my connection worked the very next day. funny coincidence, the same happened to a friend
but today what concerns me more is that my advertised speed of 8 meg still caps at 2 meg (a little more)
I see that you mention configuring your firewall properly???

Well, I have the same problem as you guys: my ADSL max looks a lot like 2048!!! I’m capped at 200Ko/s download while the test below indicates that my line should allow me to run 4x faster!!!
I had a problem with my Freebox, first my speed dropped to about 0.5Ko and then after several reboots nothing (no firmware update) and back to 200Ko a few days later. It's not bad but we pay as much as everyone else for a speed that does not match what is expected, it's frustrating!
What to do?!
